What is the age group of Jesus Youth? Print E-mail
Jesus Youth is not a ‘youth organization’ in its literal sense. There are three categories of people involved in Jesus Youth
  1. Youth members (those youngsters initiated into the movement).
  2. Senior Youth (these are members who have been in the movement for quite some time, and have settled down with jobs and families).
  3. Jesus Youth Mentors (These are elders who have been in the movement as Jesus Youth and now continue guiding and supporting youth in their formation).

There is a strong conviction in Jesus Youth that its success depends very much on continuity. The early initiators of Jesus Youth have now crossed the age limit of youth and they have contributed and continue to contribute to the vision and effectiveness of the movement. It was certainly with the presence and support of senior youth and Jesus Youth mentors, that the movement has been able to maintain the momentum all through these years. The rich experience and wisdom of this category of adults is an essential requirement, which we cannot do without.

Usually, youth organizations have a typical organizational set up and outlook. But Jesus Youth has an outlook and style of a family where there is continuity and close collaboration between different age groups. The youngsters need to have living and continuing models at different areas of family, career, vocations, etc and this is provided naturally by this presence and involvement of different age groups.
