Evangelization – why so much focus on this? |

The Second Vatican Council has brought in a new awareness about the need to witness and a renewed enthusiasm to reach out to the needy. From its very inception the CCR and its fruit Jesus Youth caught this evangelistic dynamism in a very spontaneous way and has discovered it as the very reason for its existence and vibrant growth. Jesus Youth carries a special burden for youth, which is perhaps the most troubled section of the society. It has always searched for greater effectiveness in reaching out to other youth in need and for better ways of presenting to them Jesus, the best help that they can find. More than any technique it is this felt need that impels the Jesus Youth community to witness. At the personal level evangelization is a spontaneous response of anyone coming to the Lord. Jesus Youth takes from CCR spirituality this central concern, one who renews the baptism in a mature way should be moved by the Holy Spirit to be a witness to Jesus and equipped to build His Body, the Church.
