On the occation of the Jesus Youth UAE National Meet, special message by His Grace Paul Hinder, Vicariate of Arabia, Bishop of Abu Dhabi, UAE...
My Dear friends, gathered as Jesus Youth in Dubai. I would like to greet you all. I'm very pleased that you all gathered in such a big number and this in the name of Jesus. As I said in several occasion, I'm very happy about the presence of Jesus Youth in our parishes that all I said these are the conditions that are very important. One is to widen the perspective, that means to come out from practically ethnic group from kerala. Therefore my wish is that you as what you have already started to widen the horizon to open the whole movement to other nationalities. That you to come out from a practical pecularitic movement that you were in the beginning as your birth as a movement I'm very happy if you can integrate the youth because, I'm well aware that it is an important part of our vicariate and sometimes they have been neglected because what is lacking in our vicariate is especially the path between the adult christian life and when people get married. What I'm happy about is that every movement is taking care about this phase of life of our young people. Secondly I wish that you are already doing that the Jesus Youth is committed, really in our local communities. That means, in our parishes. Of course you are internationally connected and it is very important that you are committed in our parishes to enrich the life in our christian communities. I give you all my blessings and I shall be happy to be among with you before I have to leave the country for a couple of days. May the Lord bless you and may He give you all the graces you need, not only today but also in the coming weeks and years. God Bless You. |

The Road that we came across....JY English Group, Abu Dhabi - |

The road that we came across…..JY ENGLISH GROUP, ABU DHABI,UAE.
In the year 2005, a small group of youth from St. Joseph Cathedral, Parish Abu dhabi, attended the World Youth Day in Germany. Experiencing the wonderful fellowship with more than a million of Gods chosen children in Germany changed them forever. Their dreams and perspectives changed. They saw with their own eyes how the youth experienced Jesus in a youthful way beyond borders of language, country, culture and denominations. The seeds for change had been sown in their hearts. In the words of Jesus it was like a mustard seed waiting to grow into a large tree. They wanted to share these very experiences with other youngsters.
They arrived back to Abu Dhabi with a desire to see every tongue, every tribe and all people worship our Lord in spirit and truth. Even though they were active members of their prayer group, the vernacular nature of the existing prayer group limited their chances to reach out to the scores of youth from other communities
Abu Dhabi is a peculiarity in itself. Blessed with abundant oil resources, the city has transformed itself into one of the richest places on earth. This prosperity has drawn people from all parts of the globe to this city, seeking a higher standard of life. Most of them are away from their friends and families. Life does get harsh here, not to mention getting caught in the vicious cycle of materialism. The youth from over 90 countries live and work here. St Josephs Church, Abu Dhabi serves truly as an oasis in this materialistic desert. A strong anchor for the Catholic faithful, the church is great blessing for the Catholics here.
Youth is a time of immense energy and resourcefulness. "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years approach of which you will say, I have no pleasure in them" Ecc 12:1. The glitz and glamour of Abu Dhabi, and a higher income, without the safety net of the family starves their spirituality. Other than the Holy Mass the youth do not have any other opportunity to grow in fellowship, word of God and an experience of the Holy Spirit. Considering the above situation they all got together and prayed. After a few months of prayer they realized that their small community had grown. The spirit had united them on their dream of having a single catholic charismatic youth community celebrating their differences of language, culture and race and worshiping God under one roof.
These gatherings slowly started having a scheduled structure based on the Jesus Youth movement. We started having a time for music, praise and worship, word of God and fellowship. To coordinate all these activities a group of seven members were formed. A dynamic music ministry came into being which attracted more youth. After a wait of eighteen months in prayer, we are blessed to move to St. Joseph's Church as Jesus Youth English Group.
Now is the time we are in need for your prayer support to move on to achieve our visions, as told by Geo T Kavukattu, the Coordinator.

There were as many as above 2250 participants from all the emirates of UAE. The entire programme was divided into three sessions, covering (1) New commandment of our master, (2) Practice Love our Master (3) Will of our master It gave an opportunity to come closer to each other through our Lord. The mobilization team did a marvelous work to reach everyone to build up such a big group. That to come out from a practical peculiarity movement and that you were in the beginning as your birth as a movement. I wish that you are already doing that the Jesus Youth is committed, really in our local communities in our parishes. You are internationally connected and it is very important that you are committed in our parishes to enrich the life in our Christian communities. Soon after the sharing, "on how we can practice the love of our master," covering the six pillars, there was a skit, written and directed by Dias and followed by holy adoration, which was again a blessing to everyone. The session, had variety programme, like panel sharing lead by Prajomy, national coordinator, UAE and JY News, International Updates, WYD 2008 updates and variety cultural programme.
